Deze bloemenschilderijen nemen een geheel eigen plaats in in het realisme, expressionisme, impressionisme, het fauvisme en in de traditie van de Nederlandse , Hollandse Bloemenschilderkunst. Denk ook aan de vroege Mondriaan.

The artist Anne-Mieke Bonte, who was born on the same day (although not in the same year)
as Vincent van Gogh, is creating oil paintings of flowers and branches. Mainly tulips, but also
irises, sweet peas, getians, anemones, roses, camellias, and chestnut-branches. Such flower
paintings have a very special place within the traditions of Realism, Expressionism, Impressionism,
Fauvism, and the general tradition of the Dutch Flower Painting School (including the early Mondriaan).
Anne-Mieke Bonte is an admirer of artists like De Stael, Von Jawlensky, Breitner, Oepts, Gauguin,
Schiele, Klimt, Lovis Corinth and of the art of the African Dogon in particular.
The artist is living and working in the Amsterdam Jordaan neighbourhood, where Rembrandt
had his studio as well and where every two years the famous Open Atelierroute Jordaan is organized.
